About Gordon Chiropractic & Exercise Physiology

Gordon Chiropractic sits on Old South Head Road in Rose Bay, a short drive from Bondi Junction and about ten minutes from the beach if the lights are kind. Patients come to us from Vaucluse, Double Bay, Woollahra and most suburbs in between, usually because a back or neck has finally had enough.

The clinic is run by Dr Gavin Gordon, who works a little differently to most. He’s both a chiropractor and an accredited exercise physiologist, a rare combination in Sydney. In practice it means one person can assess how your spine is moving and also build the exercise program that stops the same problem coming back. You don’t get bounced between two clinics that never talk to each other.

Why we practise the Gonstead method

Plenty of chiropractic techniques get results. We use the Gonstead system because it’s specific. Before anyone gets adjusted we want to know exactly which segment is involved and why, so the first assessment takes longer than you might expect. Some patients find that thoroughness reassuring. Others just want the sore bit fixed quickly, which is fair enough, but we’d rather be precise than fast.

There’s no spine-twisting rotation in the way many people picture chiropractic. Adjustments are targeted and controlled. If you’ve been putting off treatment because a mate told you about getting “cracked”, that’s not what happens here.

Honest care, not endless appointments

You won’t be signed up to a 40-visit plan on day one. Some problems settle in a handful of sessions. Some take longer, and a few turn out to need a GP, a scan or a different specialist entirely, in which case we’ll say so and point you in the right direction.
